PhD Biostatistics Intern

Who we are:

Kymera is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the field of targeted protein degradation (TPD) to develop medicines that address critical health problems and have the potential to dramatically improve patients’ lives. Kymera is deploying TPD to address disease targets and pathways inaccessible with conventional therapeutics. Having advanced the first degrader into the clinic for immunological diseases, Kymera is focused on building an industry-leading pipeline of oral small molecule degraders to provide a new generation of convenient, highly effective therapies for patients with these conditions. Founded in 2016, Kymera has been recognized as one of Boston’s top workplaces for the past several years.

How you’ll contribute:

We are seeking a highly motivated Statistical Summer Intern to join our Biometrics team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry, working alongside experienced biostatisticians and data scientists on real-world clinical trial and translational research data. The intern will contribute to ongoing projects and explore new methodologies in support of clinical development programs.

Assist in statistical analysis of clinical trial data under the guidance of a senior biostatistician.

Support development of statistical analysis plans, programming specifications, and summary tables/figures/listings (TFLs).

Perform exploratory data analysis and visualization using statistical software (e.g., R or SAS).

Review and contribute to clinical documents, including protocols and study reports.

Conduct literature reviews and/or methodological research on statistical topics relevant to clinical trials or translational studies.

Present project findings to the Biometrics team at the end of the internship.

Skills and experience you’ll bring:

Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline. Must have finished at least two years of graduate studies.

Solid understanding of statistical methods commonly used in clinical trials and biomedical research.

Proficiency in statistical programming using SAS, Pyton, and/or R.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Ability to manage time effectively and work independently on assigned tasks.

Research experience in any of the following areas is a plus:

Handling of missing data in clinical trials

AI/ML modeling techniques

Complex simulations in a clinical or research setting

Prior experience with clinical trial data or bioinformatics is a plus, but not required.
